Season's Over

 Hey guys!

It's definitely been a while since I've come here to update you on my life - so here it is. When you last heard from me was right after World Juniors, and a lot of racing has happened since then. With quite a lot of ups and downs.

With my results from WJs I was nominated to travel with the junior team to the last few Alpen cups (Schilpario and Toblach) and we had a decent amount of racing going on in the Czech Republic as well. Honestly racing only got harder as time went on because everyone was so exhausted, both physically and mentally. Racing every weekend with no break is really challenging, especially if that race weekend starts with an early travel day on Wednesday, which in some cases meant I was leaving home Tuesday afternoon to get to the meet-up spot. It's really fun to be able to travel and go to these places with like-minded individuals who also think skiing is the most important thing in the world, but sometimes you just wanna be at home in bed relaxing.

10k cl mass start

In my final month of racing, I'd say I did pretty well in Schilpario even with some minor problems regarding conditions and my own physical limitations (the pursuit was not my cup of tea). The last Czech Cup was also pretty successful resulting in a podium finish each day. The highlight of that probably was our 10k classic mass start which was the most fun I've had in a long time. After that, we got a week's break, which I think was my issue because my head probably fell out of the game. Everything kind of went downhill in Toblach, the sprint was alright, but hard and even then I think I was too tired to keep up with the other girls. Saturday's race I'd rather forget (I basically walked to finish), although the service team did admit to screwing up our skis so kudos to that. Sunday we had some epic relays, on account of my performance on Saturday I was placed in the second Czech relay team, but that's ok because we beat our Czech I relay team by like one minute even after partying way harder than them the night before (W us). My string of bad performances (sans relays) continued on from there and at Czech Nationals I came 5th each day we had an individual race (7.5k sk and, 10k cl). I got myself together for the relay (big shocker) and brought our relay team home to a second place finish which everyone was hyped about. Plus I didn't even go slow, I was 1s behind the fastest woman in the Czech Republic. I think I was only capable of going fast when it wasn't only my race on the line, which is good ig (in a way).

So even with an anticlimactic end to the season, one I wasn't really hoping for I can still say that I'm fairly satisfied, though it is good to always want more from yourself. Now I'm just hoping my performances were good enough to get me on the Junior National team and that I make it. Then I'll know what my next season will look like.

Once again I am forever thankful for your continued support and I wish you a pleasant off-season somewhere warm and comfortable (I'd kill to be by the ocean rn). See you next time (maybe).
